SECTION A COMPREHENSION
1. Read the following passage carefully and answer the questions
that follow;
What does the colour of your
clothes say about you? “A surprising amount” says Tom, Porter who has just co-written
a book called THE COLOUR EYE which examines the effect colours have on our
everyday lives. White ties, for example, reliable blue is the most popular with
men out on a first date with a new girlfriend, and it is a winner with job
interviewers. Blue is our favourite tie colour. Attention-grabbing red tends to
be the choice when hoping to make friends and influence people both in the
office and out on the town.
“It’s seen as a sign of potency”
say Porter, who interviewed 1,000 men on tie colours. Respectable grey on the
other hand is more likely to be won when meeting your date’s parents for the
first time. Choice of colour can also be linked to the morning, while yellow
tie (perhaps echoing the colour of the sun)tend to bloom on the summer days.
